And this is when you will see the last of the comedy show…

Colors hit the bull’s eye with Comedy Nights Bachao Taaza. The show, starring lead comedians Bharti Singh and Krushna Abhishek, was the first on Indian television to have introduced to the audience the roast comedy format.

The first season enjoyed skyrocketing ratings and also lots of appreciation from the guests who visited the show. However, the second season turned out to be a dud as compared to the first one.

The show returned as Comedy Nights Bachao Taaza’, with fresh television faces like Aditi Bhatia and Ssharad Malhotra among others, to roast their guests. Krushna and Bharti were replaced by Mona Singh as the host.

But the show gained tremendous negative news coverage as the level of humor in the show went down. From many B-Town celebs getting offended with the jokes, a majority of celebs even refusing to set foot on the show and even some of them walking out right in the middle of the shoot, Comedy Nights Bachao Taaza saw it all.

And owing to all this, the makers have decided to finally pull the show off air. The show will go off air in February next year.

Even though Krushna Abhishek confirmed this to a popular tabloid, he refuted the allegations that the show was going off air because of the controversies.

Krushna was quoted as saying that the show had reached its saturation point having shot with almost 400 actors and stated that they wanted to conclude the show on a high point. Krushna also added that they did not want to spoil their relations with the industry people.

He also revealed that John Abraham did not’ walk out of the shoot and actually completed the shoot. He also mentioned that he would be returning to the tube after a break of 3 months.

And, replacing the show will be Rising Star, that will be judged by Shankar Mahadevan, Sunidhi Chauhan and Diljit Dosanjh. The format of Rising Star is one of its kind. The contestant will be performing facing a huge wall and on the other side of the wall will be the audience. They will judge the contestant only on the basis of his or her voice. If selected, the wall will give away and the contestant will be able to face the audience.
