In a recent social media post, actor Sushant Singh announced that he will no longer be a part of Star Bharat show Savdhaan India. Singh was associated with the crime based show as a host for many years, however after he took part in the protest against CAA, he instantly announced his exit from the show which left the fans shocked. Fans expressed their disappointment over his ouster from the show as they thought that the reason for it was his supporting and voicing against CAA.

In an interaction with Spotboye, the actor confirmed it and said that after he was spotted in the protest, he got a message from the makers of the show about his ouster and he did not even get a month’s notice period as per the contract.

Now, a spokesperson from Star Bharat has issued a statement regarding the issue- “Star Bharat is dismayed by some reactions regarding a change at Savdhaan India. Savdhaan India has frequently experimented with formats and has used multiple presenters in its 7 year journey. The existing presenter was brought back in October, 2019, with the contract ending on January 15, 2020. The next format of Savdhaan India did not require a presenter, and hence a new contract was not signed. The channel has no political views, nor does it seek to influence the political views of its contracted talent.”

The past week has all been about the Citizenship Amendment Bill (CAB) that was recently passed by the government. The protests against the act have gained momentum across the whole nation and its going out of hand now. The last couple of days in Delhi have been intense as the students of Jamia Millia Islamia University recently took to the streets to protest against the law and had to face the wrath of Delhi police.
